Happy Retirement - Card

Hello everyone!

Today I'm back with a card I made for a lady at work who is retiring in a few days.

I used a ton of different products for my card.  First I used the Mama Elephant Peek a Frame window die, and this had one side that only scores and creates a score line to have the window swing open.  I the cut out the panel with the stitched rectangle that comes in the same ME die set.

I used Salty Ocean distress ink to colour the sky on the card base and used the cloud die out of the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die set and glued that to the card base.

I used the Pretty Pink Posh picket fence die and added that to the background for some interest.  I used Seedless preserve and Evergreen Bough distress inks on a piece of water colour paper and cut out the butterflies using the Paper Smooches Butterfly Duet dies.  I just love these.

I then used the Cracked Pistachio distress ink on some regular card stock and cut out the word HAPPY with the MFT Emmit Alphabet dies.   To finish of the card I used some Pretty Pink Posh 4 & 6 mm marshmallow sequins and some Doodlebug sprinkles enamel dots and Chickiniddy enamel hearts that came in a Simson Card kit a while back.

Supplies:
Mama Elephant - Peek a Frame Creative Cuts - SSS & ME
Mama Elephant - Landscape Trio Dies - SSS & ME
Pretty Pink Posh - Picket Fence Die - PPP & SSS
Pretty Pink Posh 4mm & 6mm Marshmallow sequins - PPP

Let's have some COFFEE!!!

Hello everyone,

I finally got my hands on a couple of stamps sets from Create a Smile Stamps.  Butterfly Reflections Ink is the first US store to carry the brand and I'm super excited because that's where I got mine!!

This is the first card I did with the set.

I made a square card and I used the SSS stitched squares dies to cut out the frame.  I popped it up on foam tape but I decided not to make a shaker card this time, though this would make a great one.

I used the coffee bean from Lawn Fawn's Love you a latte and the moustache from the Create a Smile  Coffee First set and stamped it with Fog ink.  I then took the heart stamp from the CAS set and stamped that in Schoolhouse ink.

I stamped the sentiment in SSS white pigment ink on a piece of scrap red card stock and used the flag die Lawn Fawn Stitched journaling dies to cut it out nice and straight.

I then used my copics to colour in the coffee cup and covered the whole thing with glossy accents.

I stamped the Coffee in Memento Onyx black ink and fussy cut it out to give it some interest.  I also popped that up on foam tape as well.

Supplies:
Copics used:  BG13, BG23, BG75, R20 & R29 (Michaels)
Coffee First (Create a Smile) - Butterfly Reflections Ink
Love you a Latte (Lawn Fawn) - Simon Says Stamp
Stitched journaling dies (Lawn Fawn) - Simon Says Stamp
Square stitched dies - Simon Says Stamp
Fog, Schoolhouse  & White inks (Simon Says Stamp) - SSS

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello everyone,

I really liked the colour combination from the Fusion Card Challenge for this week so I thought I would do up a card and video.  I have the Paper Smooches Graceful Butterflies and I wanted to try out my new Ranger Blue Ribbon dye ink.  I do have to say that I'm not sure about the formulation of this ink for solid stamping as I didn't fin that it covered that well with this particular stamp but this was the first time I used it.  I do love the colour and will try different things with it.  I know May Flaum did a review of a few colours, click here for it and they do seam like they will be fun to use in mixed media.

Here is my video.  Hope you like it.  If you do, let me know by giving me a thumbs up and subscribe!

Hello Birthday

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another birthday card.  This is the occasion that I use the most and I think most of us do.  I put this set from The Alley Way Stamps on my desk and the whale kept looking at me just wanting me to make a card with him.

So I did, and here it is!

I used the TAWS Sea Mates and stamped out the whale with Memento Onyx black ink and coloured him in with copics.  I used the Wink of Stella glitter pen to add some sparkle.

I cut out the back panel from a MME 6x6 paper pad and used Evergreen Bough distress ink and went around the edges to make it pop a bit.  I used the MFT Stitched diagonal rectangles for the second panel and stamped the sentiment in Memento as well.   I took the little bubble stamp from the WPlus9 Bubble Talk and used it to create a background on the Lawn Fawn Scalloped circles die cut and I used Hero Arts Tide Pool ink.  I also used the Tide Pool for the little squirt on top of the whale.

I took the stitched circle die from the Stitched Banner die set and cut out the circle as well as the wave from the same patterned paper as the first panel and I used the same distress too.

And once again, I used the Marshmallow 4mm & 6mm sequins to finish off the card.  I hoarded those sequins for so long I had to finally start using them.

Supplies:
WPlus9 Bubble Talk stamp set- Butterfly Reflections Ink
Sea Mates Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Lawnscaping Challenge #103 - Dimension

Hello everyone!

I'm here today to share a card for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge and it's all about dimension.

I decided to finally use my Film strip die from Pretty Pink Posh and if you look closely you'll also see the new Picket Fence die as well.  When I was putting the card together it looked to white so I took my SSS Khaki ink and rubbed the pad along the die cut to make woodgrain marks so it looked more realistic.  I cut several film strips to give dimension to the card and as usual I end up getting ink where it shouldn't be so I cut out another one and added it to the top.  Another epic save!  Whoot whoot!

I absolutely love the Lawn Fawn's Gleeful Garden and I can't get enough of those mushrooms!  I covered the much room, flower buds and sunflower with Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and then with glossy accents to give it more depth.

I coloured a scrap piece of card stock with a couple of red Copics and then used the Lawn Fawn's Happy Birthday Border die and cut it out.  I finished the card off with some Pretty Pink Posh and Lawn Fawn sequins

Thanks - Card

Hello everyone,

Today I have a card that will hopefully brighten your day!

I started out with the Stitched Duo 3 dies and cut this out before I cut apart the inside squares so that I would have them exactly centred.  I used the Dear Lizzy 6x6 patterned paper for the base, this is such a pretty paper pad.

Then I used the Picket Fence die in the background as well as the Grassy Borders die and cut that out from the green polka dots in the Let's Polka, mon amie 6x6 petite paper pack.   The background sky is from the Pint-sized patterns 12x12 paper pack.

The sequins are the 4mm & 6mm Spring Mix as well as the new little flowers.  I coloured in the mushrooms with my copics and used Wink of Stella to add some shimmer though you can't see it in the pictures.  I cut out some clouds using the Spring Showers dies out of white card stock and added them to the background.  I stamped the sentiment out of Memento Onyx and it actually said "many thanks" but I did some selective stamping and left out the many.

I used the some ribbon from my stash and added a bow to the top.  I then added on a paper clip that I made with the same ribbon and thought the recipient could used it for either in a favourite book or in a planner.

Supplies:

Stitched Duo 3 dies - Pretty Pink Posh
Spring Mix - Pretty Pink Posh
Spring Flowers - Pretty Pink Posh
Picket Fence - Pretty Pink Posh
Lawn Fawn's Gleeful Garden - Butterfly Reflections Ink

Hello - Sorry you're having a ruff day!

 Hello everyone!

I'm back with another card.

I love this set from My Favorite Things.  We are both dog and cat lovers so when these sets came out I just have to have them.  But I had to pace myself so I picked up the "You make my tail wag" that I picked up from Butterfly Reflections Ink first, then I'll pick up the kitty one in my next haul.

I started out with some 110# white card stock and I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 dies but instead of the squares,  I used a circle die from SSS as I wanted to have the stitching around the negative part as well.  So I went ahead and cut those out and then I used the Lawn Fawn Interlocking backdrops stamps and with the chevrons in with Fog ink for some interest.

I then took the small Hello die and cut that out of grey card stock about four times to give it some dimension and glued that one with Tombow Mono and let it hang off the circle just a bit.

I cut and stamped the puppy and coloured him with my copics, E23 & E25 and used a bit of C1 to colour in the white parts along with N4, N6 & N8 for his nose.   I took a piece of Amarican Crafts black twine, Marshmallow sequins and black enamel dots along with some black shimmer mist from Tattered Angel.

On the inside I added the rest of the puppy and grounded him with some C3 and 0.  I have to say that I am not great at grounding my images, but I know I'll get is with a bit more practice.  I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo black ink and called it done.

Supplies:
Card stock, copics, twine, Tombow Mono, Shimmer mist, Memento ink - Michaels
You make my tail wag, stamps and dies - Butterfly Reflections Ink

Happy Thoughts

Hello everyone!

I'm here today with a card for the Sparkle and Shine Challenge Three.  The theme for this challenge is a photo source and here it is.

I was inspired by the colour palette the most.  Those colours make me smile as I remember that spring is really just around the corner!  Even thought we got another 10 cm of snow last night!  *sigh*

I used distress inks and added them to the card with a blending tool and a piece of acetate that I cut out a curve shape.

I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched rectangle dies and cut out both the white and burgundy panels.  I popped the first panel with foam tape.  I took the Mama Elephant "Happy" die and cut out a piece of SSS slate card stock, even though it looks black in the picture.  I stamped the "thoughts" sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink.

To finish off the card I took the Spring mix sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and glued them on with multi matte medium and took my Wink of Stella glitter pen and added some glitter to the die cut.

Supplies:
Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins - PPP
ME - Happy Everything  SSS
Distress inks - Squeezed Lemonade, Festive Berries and Cracked Pistatio SSS
Lawn Fawn Stitched rectangles SSS
Versafine Onyx Black Ink  - Michaels

Hello and welcome to the Light It Up Blue For Autism Awareness Blog!

If you would like a chance to win a prize from one of these fabulous companies leave a comment on this blog, and any or all of the other blogs participating in today's hop! Winners will be chosen at random and will be announced on Monday April 6. Now here is the card I created for today's hop!

The theme for this hop is BLUE, so here is my card.

I cut out the panel with the MFT In & Out diagonal rectangle dies. I used translucent embossing paste and I mixed it with the Broken China distress ink.  I then spread it over the stencil and I think it turned out better than I was expecting.  I love when that happens!

While I waited for that to dry I die cut the sentiment three times out of white card stock and glued them together to make it more dimensional.  I also took the rectangle die from the Married set and cut out a piece of grey card stock from my stash and out of a piece of vellum as well.  I off set them to give it more interest then finished off the card with some Lawn Fawn and Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Don't forget to leave a message on this blog as well as all the other blogs for a chance to win some pretty AWESOME prizes from some great sponsors, such as Butterfly Reflections Ink, Winnie & Walter, Simon Says Stamp, Reverse Confetti and SO MANY more!
